300,000-year-old skull discovered in China could potentially reshape human history

    An international team of researchers in China discovered an ancient skull that defies conventional notions of early human evolution. Groundbreaking discovery: Dating back approximately 300,000 years, the skull was unearthed in the Hualongdong region of eastern China in 2015, alongside 15 other specimens purportedly from the late Middle Pleistocene period. Remarkable find: The study, authored by scientists from China, Spain and the United Kingdom, was published in the Journal of Human Evolution on July 31.
