Fewer Than 3,000 Remain at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza, Doctors Say

Fewer than 2,000 displaced people and some 700 patients remained at the [Al-Shifa hospital complex](https://ift.tt/YVtM4bk) in Gaza City, with the medical staff reduced to a core of three or four physicians from each specialty and a few nurses caring for the most critically ill and wounded patients, physicians in Gaza said. Around 2,500 patients left the [hospital complex](https://ift.tt/9DYVQu5) Friday, said Dr. Ahmed El Mokhallalati, the head of Al-Shifa’s plastic-surgery department, who has remained at the complex. As many as 60,000 people had sheltered inside and around the hospital grounds, the Health Ministry in Hamas-run Gaza has said.
