Advanced Micro Devices believes it can become a major player in the AI chip space. On Wednesday, AMD announced its new lineup of laptop processors called the Ryzen 8040 Series that are designed to boost the performance of artificial intelligence applications by up to 60% versus prior models. “The increased AI capabilities of the 8040 series will now handle larger models to enable the next phase of AI user experiences,” AMD executive Jack Huynh said in a press release.
