DeSantis Supporters Frustrated With Early Race Call, but Not Sure if It Mattered

Republican Rep. Chip Roy of Texas said the race was called before he was able to speak on behalf of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis at a suburban Des Moines caucus site where former President Donald Trump, biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley all spoke. “Everybody knows you're not supposed to call the election before the polls close, we didn't get a chance to talk to voters," Roy told reporters at the DeSantis election event. Tim Overlin, 52, who works for an airline, said his caucus in Grime, Iowa, had already voted but hadn’t called in their results before the race was called for Trump.
