"But now, we finally have to send out a signal to show that they won't get into power here and that there are too many people who are against them."Protests across Germany are in their third week, having gained momentum after a report that some senior AfD party officials discussed policies such as the mass deportation of citizens of foreign origin at a meeting with right-wing radicals.Critics of the AfD are looking to curb support for the populist party, which is polling in second place nationally and first in the three eastern German states holding elections this year.Organizers of Saturday's event said some 30,000 protesters had taken to the streets. Local police said they had no exact figures but said there were thousands of people.
