    In August 1971, women's football teams from England, Argentina, Mexico, France, Denmark, and Italy convene in Mexico City’s Azteca Stadium for an unprecedented tournament – Copa 71, the unofficial Women’s World Cup. Despite the lavish sponsorship, extensive TV coverage, and rockstar treatment, the tournament is dismissed by FIFA and global football associations, nearly erasing it from history.
