Heaviest rain Saturday evening, cooler & drier by Sunday

Earlier in the day, portions of the hills and southern New Hampshire witnessed a mix of snow and ice, though rising temps will eat away at any accumulation from here on out. This prolonged rainfall, and any melting that occurs, raises concerns for roadside flooding, with the heaviest downpours forecasted between 6-9 pm. The storm system will exit after this, but may squeeze out another inch of snow in the northern Worcester hills, while southern New Hampshire might see accumulations in the 1-3″ range. Expect gusty winds to take us overnight, up to 50 mph on Cape Cod, and peaking at 35-45 mph elsewhere across the state.
