Truck and car collide in fatal crash on I-44 near Sullivan

First responders are at a fatal crash on I-44 near Sullivan, Missouri involving a semi truck and another vehicle. All eastbound lanes are shut down as emergency crews work to clear the area. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a tractor trailer crossed over and struck a passenger car head-on. They say the person who died in this crash was in the car. The vehicles are burning and firefighters are working to extinguish the flames. There is a traffic backup in the area and it is not clear when the highway will reopen. This is a developing story.
