Voters are okay with politicians’ lies if it’s the candidate they support, new study says

Researchers from Carnegie Mellon, Rice, MIT and the University of Colorado at Boulder analyzed six surveys of American voters. They showed the voters false statements from politicians like Trump, Biden, Ron DeSantis and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. While some of the voters believed the false information, they say many others knew the politician was lying but were okay with it because they support the broader political mission.
