A Southwest Airlines flight had to return to Denver International Airport on Sunday after an engine cowling fell off on takeoff and hit the wing flap, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. The agency said the plane, a Boeing 737-800, was headed to William P. Hobby Airport in Houston and that it will investigate. “We apologize for the inconvenience of their delay, but place our highest priority on ultimate Safety for our Customers and Employees,” Southwest said in an emailed statement.
