Fire Crews Rescue Desert Tortoise Crossing the Road in San Bernardino

Fire crews in San Bernardino, California, rescued a desert tortoise slowly making its way across a roadway.Video posted to social media on August 16 shows a ME36 crew member walk onto the road from his fire truck and carefully pick up the tortoise and move it safely to a patch of grass.San Bernardino County Fire said the crew members were on their way to respond to a non-priority call when they came across the animal.“Warm or cold blooded, we’re #ProudToServeYou!” the fire service wrote in a post accompanying the video.
