Three U.S. Marines Dead in Military Aircraft Crash in Australia

    Authorities said the aircraft was carrying 23 Marines on board when it went down on a remote island. SYDNEY—Three U.S. Marines died after their Osprey aircraft crashed on a remote island in northern Australia while supporting a training exercise, U.S. military officials said. Five other Marines have been transported to hospital in Darwin, capital of the Northern Territory, in a serious condition.
