Sep. 12—A 76-year-old Hickory woman died Friday in a head-on collision on U.S. 64 in Alexander County. The N.C. Highway Patrol responded to the scene at about 5:40 p.m. on U.S. 64 near Church Road, said Master Trooper Christopher Casey, with the N.C. Highway Patrol.
