UAW President Envisions Unusual Strike—Multiple Companies, Specific Plants

    The United Auto Workers union is directing members to walk off the job at three large assembly plants across General Motors, Ford Motor and Jeep-maker Stellantis if negotiators can’t reach a deal before 11:59 ET Thursday night. UAW President Shawn Fain has outlined a strike tactic that he said has never been deployed across all three companies in the union’s 88-year history. The automakers declined to comment on strike scenarios.
