Shooting leaves L.A. County Sheriff’s deputy hospitalized

A shooting left a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputy hospitalized on Saturday night. Authorities received reports of the shooting around 6 p.m. in front of the Palmdale Sheriff's Station on the 750 block of East Avenue Q. Officials confirmed the deputy was shot inside his patrol car and was “found in medical distress” outside the station. Sources tell KTLA the shooting was some type of ambush. The deputy was on duty when the shooting took place. He was transported in critical condition to the Antelope Valley Medical Center in Lancaster.
