U.S. officials said they are working with foreign counterparts to establish a corridor for humanitarian supplies and to provide safe passage for Gaza residents trying to leave the conflict zone. Earlier, Israel's military said it had launched raids into the enclave, targeting Hamas militants and looking for hostages abducted in last weekend's cross-border attack.
