Jim Jordan’s Early Outreach Helped Win Over Some Past Skeptics

Jim Jordan has gained the support of many former skeptics in recent days, perhaps because his overtures to them predated the current speaker battle. Sarah Chamberlain, president and CEO of the Republican Main Street Partnership, a group that includes more than 70 House members, said Jordan visited and briefed the group in recent months. “A lot of people are baffled, ‘Why are Main Street members voting for him?’” Chamberlain said, noting that the group also includes some Jordan holdouts.
