Andrew Shovlin has admitted that there are similarities between Mercedes’ struggles this year with the W13 and the problems their rivals McLaren endured in the 2009 season – as he opened up to the possibility that the Silver Arrows could have to wait till 2023 to stand on the top step of the podium.
