‘We expect American citizens to exit’ Gaza Wednesday, Biden says

President Joe Biden said Wednesday that the U.S. anticipates American citizens will exit Gaza "today" and that more are expected to depart "over the coming days," the result of weeks of effort. State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller confirmed during a press briefing Wednesday that "an initial group of foreign nationals, including U.S. citizens, departed Gaza through Rafah today, and we expect exits of U.S. citizens and foreign nationals to continue over the next several days."
