Robert Posner, maverick employed by Auberon Waugh to manage Literary Review and the Academy Club in Soho – obituary

    Robert Posner, who has died aged 72, had a maverick career that encompassed several jobs, but he was happiest in the role of adjutant to Auberon Waugh, first as business manager of Literary Review and then as the founding manager of the Academy Club, a Soho club for raffish writers, journalists, and other reprobates, where the only prohibition was against bores.
