Israel Says It Intercepted a Hamas Long-Range Missile With New Defense System

    Hamas fired its long-range “Ayyash 250” missile toward the southern Israeli city of Eilat early Saturday evening, triggering siren alerts and marking the third time the missile has been used since the start of the war, according to Israeli's military. The Israeli Air Force said the missile was identified and intercepted by its “Hetz” (arrow) air-defense system, in its second use since the system was engaged to intercept a missile fired from Yemen this past week. The Hetz system is one element of [Israel's Iron Dome missile-defense system](https://ift.tt/93hsIYU) and is largely designed to intercept ballistic missiles.
