Secretary of State Antony Blinken said the U.S. wants to see the pause of Israel’s bombardment of Gaza extended to secure the release of additional hostages and get more humanitarian aid to civilians. “It’s also allowed us to surge humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza who so desperately need it,” he said. Blinken’s comments came as he prepared to travel to Israel and the West Bank for talks with leaders about the war.
