About 100 firefighters have been called to a huge fire in east London, with thick, black smoke seen across the city for miles. Most of the roof of a six-storey building in Bow was alight, as the blaze prompted about 120 calls from the public to London Fire Brigade’s 999 control centre. Fifteen fire engines were used to tackle the flames, and neighbouring buildings were reportedly evacuated.
