A police sergeant in West Covina, California, unwittingly walked into an ongoing robbery at a 7-Eleven store on Wednesday, January 17.Footage from store surveillance shows a person dressed in a grey, hooded sweatshirt approaching the counter with a black plastic bag.The person behind the counter starts to put bills into the bag just as an officer, named by West Covina Police Department as Sergeant Hernandez, enters the store.The person behind the counter calls attention to the ongoing robbery and Hernandez can be seen chasing the suspect, named as 48-year-old Ramon Gonzalez, out of the store.Gonzalez was taken into custody and booked for robbery, West Covina Police Department said.Approximately $400 in cash taken from the store register was returned to the owner, police added.
