In August 1971, teams from England, Argentina, Mexico, France, Denmark, and Italy gather in Mexico City’s Azteca Stadium for Copa 71, the unofficial Women's World Cup. Despite the monumental scale of the tournament, lavish sponsorship, extensive TV coverage, and roaring crowds, it's dismissed by FIFA and global football associations. The event, featuring all-women players treated as rock stars, has been largely omitted from history.
