DeSantis Says Idalia Damage Could Be Easier to Clean Up Compared With Ian

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis [said at a news briefing](https://ift.tt/Sezm1D2) Tuesday morning that Idalia could leave less devastation than last year’s Hurricane Ian if the storm makes landfall as predicted in the less-populated Big Bend region. “Compared to say an Ian where you had it mixed with a lot of commercial and residential, this is likely just going to be a lot of trees and roads and stuff,” he said. Ian came ashore in the populous Lee County, home to the city of Fort Myers.
