I was splashing the bathwater in a pre-dinner frothing fury. One of our greatest broadcasters, Iain Dale on LBC, had a guest on his evening show. She was Sarah Jones, Labour’s shadow industry, decarbonisation and refrigerator recycling minister (ok, the fridge thing is a joke) and she was on to explain the announcement this week by her boss, shadow chancellor Rachel Reeves, that a Labour government would ‘close the tax gap.’
