Ecuador Police Respond at TV Studio Following On-Air Storming by Gunmen

    Armed police responded at the scene and made several arrests after gunmen stormed a TV studio in Guayaquil, Ecuador, on January 9, disrupting a live broadcast.The incident, one of several attacks reported in Ecuador on Tuesday, occurred a day after President Daniel Noboa declared a state of emergency following the escape of a notorious gang leader from prison.Noboa later issued a decree defining more than 20 organized crime groups as terrorist organizations, and declaring an internal armed conflict.Police said 70 arrests were made in various incidents.More than 300 journalists in Ecuador have signed a letter condemning the attack on TC Television.This video was shot from amid the police response in the studio.
