Families find some hope in new gun violence initiative

    Some families for whom grief endures after losing loved ones said they find hope in the federal government's announcement of a new initiative to combat gun violence. Time stands still for Erica Colbert as she seeks answers to many questions about the killing of her 16-year-old grandson, Bryson Hudson, who was shot multiple times in August blocks from his east Baltimore home. President Joe Biden on Friday announced a new office of gun violence prevention that will be led by the vice president, who is a former prosecutor and state attorney general. That gives Colbert and other relatives of crime victims some hope for change.
