Some families for whom grief endures after losing loved ones said they find hope in the federal government's announcement of a new initiative to combat gun violence. President Joe Biden on Friday announced a new office of gun violence prevention that will be led by the vice president, who is a former prosecutor and state attorney general. That gives Colbert and other relatives of crime victims some hope for change.
