Fans waited in vain at Heathrow Airport on Tuesday, August 22, to greet the returning England women’s team after their World Cup loss to Spain.The Lionesses were due to land from Sydney early on Tuesday morning, but did not greet fans in the airport.According to BBC Sport it was “normal process” for teams to exit the airport without going through arrivals.“It is also understood Heathrow staff were informed of the process so they were able to update any fans who were waiting to greet the team,” the report added.
