From Acting in ‘The Bear to Actually Making Food

As soon as the Writers Guild of America went on strike back in May, Shapiro was providing pretzels. Now that SAG-Aftra, a group that Shapiro is a part of, has joined them, demand has only grown. With Hollywood shut down amid a fight between actors and writers’ and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, which represents studios, some people in the industry have been turning to their food-related side projects as a way to bring sustenance to the protesters. Much of the food is donated by the food purveyors themselves, or it’s offered through sponsorships from the more famous people on strike.
