    Kobayashi set a pole time of 1m29.234s to edge out his teammate Brendon Hartley by just 0.020s in the sister #8 Toyota.
    Alpine proved to be Toyota’s nearest challenger with Matthieu Vaxiviere securing third on the grid in the solo A480 grandfathered LMP1 car, ahead of the two new Peugeot 9X8 Le Mans Hypercars.
    Pole in LMP2 went to the #38 JOTA Oreca 07 driven by Antonio Felix da Costa.
