Gold Prices Temper After Sharp Rise

    Gold prices were tempering, having risen sharply on Wednesday with demand for safe-haven assets boosted by the conflict in Israel. New York futures were down 0.3% to $1,961.90 a troy ounce, after having risen 1.7% on Wednesday. The conflict in the Middle East is acting as a key driver with prices rising to their highest level since August on Wednesday, Deutsche Bank said in a note.
