After her divorce in 2019, Mary Rothwell was looking forward to expressing her style in a new spec house in the Lynn Park/Highland Village neighborhood of Houston. “For the first time, I was able to create every single space exactly the way I envisioned it,” Rothwell says. While anxious for a fresh start, Rothwell did negotiate with her ex-husband to take a few favorite pieces from the house that he was keeping, which, in turn, helped lower some of the costs to furnish her new house.
