I cannot support a Tory party in denial about immigration

I had the most enormous fun attending this week’s Conservative Party Conference, but my perception is that Conservatives around the country found it to be a huge disappointment. As Allison Pearson has correctly pointed out, two of the three big announcements made by Rishi Sunak – banning smoking and ditching A-Levels – would not have appeared in a list of most voters’ top priorities. One is forced to scratch one’s head and wonder what is going on.
