Hurricane Idalia is forecast to make landfall Wednesday morning in Florida's Big Bend area, north of Tampa. The storm is expected to strengthen further as it nears Florida, possibly becoming a major Category 3 hurricane. Hurricane Idalia will likely leave a lot of debris, downed trees and downed power lines as it churns through the woodlands of Florida’s Big Bend region, Gov. Ron DeSantis said at a news conference Tuesday.
