A food waste expert has tested these Tik-Tok ‘hacks’ so you don’t have to. Ben Thomas, who is an environment manager at Waitrose, claims not all viral videos are as effective as they might first appear. The advice comes after a poll of 2,000 adults found 52 per cent have been inspired to try a hack after watching one on social media. However, for 21 per cent of these, they didn’t quite live up to expectations. He said: “The research shows just how much the nation is now turning to social media when it comes to tips and tricks around the home – and the same goes for reducing food waste too."
