Johnny Kitagawa: J-pop agency head resigns following sex abuse probe

    The president of Johnny & Associates has resigned following an internal investigation that concluded the agency’s founder and her late uncle, Johnny Kitagawa, had sexually abused hundreds of young boys as far back as the 1950s. Fujishima’s resignation: Julie Keiko Fujishima, 57, expressed her regret and responsibility for her uncle’s actions and pledged to personally contribute to a victim compensation program. “This is what my uncle committed, and as a niece, I want to take responsibility,” Fujishima said, according to the Associated Press.
