Large Fire Breaks Out at Industrial Site in Mexican City

Huge plumes of black smoke were visible in the sky over San Nicolas de los Garza, Mexico, on Sunday, February 4, as a fire broke out at an industrial site.Emergency units and firefighters were at the wood and plastics facility, and said no injuries were reported.According to local news reports, the fire broke out at the Inova Plastics plant at around 2 pm on Sunday afternoon.The fire spread to warehouses and people living nearby had to be evacuated, local media said.The Environment Ministry of the Nuevo Leon state said that it would suspend the activities of companies that ignored prevention measures suggested given the high temperatures, high humidity, and strong winds that day.Footage released by Proteccion Civil Nuevo Leon shows emergency units at the scene.
