KANSAS CITY, Mo.—One person was killed and at least 21 others suffered gunshot wounds during a mass shooting Wednesday afternoon near Union Station, where crowds had gathered to celebrate the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl win, police said. Three people were detained and under investigation, said Kansas City Police Chief Stacey Graves. According to the Kansas City Fire Department, 22 people were shot, one fatally; eight had immediately life-threatening injuries, seven had life-threatening injuries, six had minor injuries.
