NASCAR visionary Bruton Smith passes away at 95

    Jun. 27—Wednesday, June 22, the NASCAR world learned it had lost one of racing's most innovative figures. Burton Smith, founder of Speedway Motorsports Inc. (SMI) and owner of several famous NASCAR tracks, passed away of natural causes at the age of 95.
