A major winter storm swept across large parts of the U.S. Friday, with blizzards pounding the Midwest ahead of an incoming Arctic freeze that will bring bone-chilling temperatures. More than 2,000 flights within, into or out of the U.S. were canceled Friday, according to flight-tracking service FlightAware. At Chicago O’Hare International Airport and Chicago Midway International Airport, roughly 1,000 flights were grounded by a wintry mix that dumped several inches of snow on parts of Illinois.
