Shipping Is Disrupted by Red Sea Attacks, Panama Drought. It Means Higher Rates.

    Conflict in the Middle East is disrupting global trade flows and pushing up shipping costs. Iran-backed Houthi militants in Yemen have been striking commercial shipping traffic in the Red Sea with anti-ship missiles and drones, purportedly to support Palestinians by putting pressure on Israel and its backers. The U.S. is organizing an international naval force to police the region and protect shipping lanes.
