Tesla Recalls 1.6 Million Vehicles in China. Except, It’s Not Really a Recall.

    Tesla is officially recalling around 1.6 million vehicles in China over concerns about their steering software. The measure will put more focus on the electric-vehicle manufacturer’s self-driving technology but the financial effects should be limited as it will be dealt with via a software update. The recall has to do with Tesla assisted steering function, according to the China State Administration for Market Regulation, in a statement seen by Barron’s and translated using online tools.
