The S&P 500 Is on Track for a Record Close

A record close for the S&P 500 could be in the works. The benchmark index was recently up 0.9% at around 4822, on track to close above its previous high mark of 4796.56, set on Jan. 3, 2022. A new closing high so would break a streak of 512 trading days without a new record, according to Dow Jones Market Data.
