Tropical Storm Jasper Brings Strong Winds and Storm Surge to Cairns

Tropical Cyclone Jasper was bringing damaging to destructive winds to parts of Far North Queensland as it made landfall on Wednesday, December 13, the Bureau of Meteorology said.The bureau said Jasper was a Category 2 storm, with sustained winds near the center of 100 km/h (60 mph) and gusts of up to 140 km/h.This footage by X user @AussieHex shows strong winds whipping up the surf in Cairns.
