Euro zone bond yields ticked up on Monday, extending a U.S.-led move from late last week, and ahead of a speech by ECB president Christine Lagarde that could challenge or underscore expectations the ECB will likely not raise rates this month. Germany's 10-year yield, the benchmark for the euro zone rose 2 basis points (bps) to 2.56% after a 7.4 bp jump on Friday. Italy's 10-year yield, the benchmark for the euro zone periphery, rose 3 bps to 4.27%, after an 11 bp Friday jump, with both yields largely in the middle of their ranges for the year.
