Vehicles Partially Submerged in Rhode Island River Flooding

    The National Weather Service (NWS) said widespread heavy rain and rapid snowmelt were bringing river flooding to parts of Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island on January 10.According to the weather service, between 2 and 4 inches of rain fell overnight, which coupled with “rapid snowmelt” was overflowing rivers across the region.Footage shows flooding on Wednesday in Johnston, Rhode Island.A flood warning was in effect for Johnston at this time, per the NWS.“Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas,” the NWS reminded residents.
