Water Situation in Gaza Is Deteriorating, U.N. Agencies Say

The Gaza Strip's clean water is rapidly running out, the U.N. children's agency, Unicef, said Friday. The agency is supporting a desalination plant, and U.N. trucks have brought in bottled water, it added, but “unrestricted humanitarian access” was needed throughout the enclave. The U.N. agency that oversees refugees in the Gaza Strip said Friday that fuel to pump water was limited, and that damage to water and sanitation infrastructure was creating public health risks.
