STORY: Forest fires have destroyed crops in the Santa Cruz region and ravaged thousands of hectares of the Noel Kempff Mercado National Park, a gateway to the pristine Amazonian rainforest.The Santa Cruz government said on Tuesday there are 12 active forest fires, mainly in the municipalities of San Matias, Concepcion, and San Ignacio.Helicopters have been deployed to help firefighters and authorities on the ground.
